Temporary Work

Why you should consider temporary work…

Temporary work can be hugely rewarding. Whether you’re in between permanent positions, have been through a redundancy or are just looking for some work during a break from education, temping might be just the job!

We work with a wide range of businesses across Cheshire who require temporary staff. Once we’ve helped them establish what they need from a temp, we match each position to the candidate with the best suited skills and experience. That could be you!

We manage the whole process, from initial introduction through to payment of wages and beyond. We’re here to answer any questions and make your temping experience as easy and rewarding as possible.

Temping FAQs

Do you still need a CV from me?

Ideally yes we do. Even though you might only be looking for a short term temporary job, we still need to make sure that you’re the perfect fit. With your CV we can start the conversation to find out everything we can about what you are looking for, as well as what skills and experience you offer. We can then match you up with the best option for you.

Do I have to go to interviews, like in permanent jobs?

This completely depends. Some businesses will skip the interview process and ask you to start straight away. However, others will ask you to attend a meeting or interview, just to make sure you’re the right fit. Whatever happens, we’ll advise you of process at every step and help you tackle anything to make sure you get the job!

How do I get paid?

Each week you’re working you’ll submit a timesheet through our online timesheet system. It’s really simple and will make sure you get paid for each and every hour that you’re temping. Your pay will go straight into your bank account each week and your payslip will be emailed to you.

Do I get holidays when I’m a temp?

Yes! Instead of being allocated a set number of days, you get paid for holidays based on the numbers of days you work. For each week worked you’ll accrue 0.54 days (based on the standard 20 days + 8 bank holidays). Our system will then work out the average of the previous 12 weeks to give you a daily rate. We’ll explain the whole process to you when you start temping so there are no surprises!

Do I have to give notice?

Temporary work is extremely flexible on both sides. Officially there is no notice to give. However we ask that you let us know a few days before you plan to finish an assignment. That way we can keep the company you’re temping for in the loop and make sure everything runs smoothly right until the end. We ask the company to do the same so everyone knows where they stand.
