Within this IT Support Executive role, there is no “1st Line/ 2nd Line/ 3rd Line” divide. The manager believes in training his staff in all areas which means as you develop, you’ll have the opportunity to gain in depth experience within the full IT Support remit. Have your finger in all the IT pies, so to speak!
All the senior members within the team have been with the business many years and have progressed through the ranks to the roles they’re in today. This is a great indicator of the fact that as the new IT Support Executive, you will be working for a company that genuinely looks after their staff. You would join a team of 5, with a friendly and relaxed approach – they socialise as a team outside of work, too!
At the moment the offices are closed, and all staff are working remotely, until March 2021 at the earliest. Within your role, ideally you would be in the office 1 – 2 days per week whilst training and the remainder would be remote. It is anticipated that once the office reopens in March, the role will offer a flexible mixture of remote and office-working.
The role of IT Support Executive is very varied. You will provide IT Support to approximately 500 employees across the UK and the US. The support will be on Windows 10&7, Office 365, MS Teams & Skype for Business, HP Laptops & Desktops. You will also monitor the IT Inventory, handling upgrades when necessary. You will work on a rota between the hours of 8AM – 4PM and 10AM – 6PM.
In order to be successful for the position of IT Support Executive you will need to have at least one year’s experience within an IT Support position or have an IT-related degree. You will need to be comfortable communicating with people over the phone and via email. The rest can and will be trained!
